Privacy Policy
Information we collect
Phone number, verified by a one-time SMS code sent through Firebase Authentication, used to sign you in. No password or account registration is required.
Names you enter: your own name, and, if applicable, a rider's name and a parent/contact name.
Ride details you or others enter: event times and locations, departure times and locations, seat counts, and any optional notes (for example, a pickup or dropoff address).
We do not collect payment information.
How we use this information
To sign you in and identify which entries (ride offers, seat claims, ride requests) belong to you, so only you can edit or cancel them.
To show ride and event details to other members of your team who have your team's shared link.
Firebase Authentication sends a one-time sign-in verification code. If you separately opt in to ride notifications, Rides Team sends messages such as confirming a claimed seat, or telling a driver a new rider joined or a seat opened up.
SMS messaging
If you check the separate SMS-consent checkbox, you agree to receive automated text messages from Rides Team related to carpool coordination, including ride and seat updates. Consent is not required to use Rides Team. Message frequency varies with ride activity. One-time sign-in verification codes are sent separately through Firebase Authentication.
Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of messages at any time, or HELP for help.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Where your information is stored
Ride and account data is stored using Google Firebase. One-time sign-in verification codes are sent through Firebase Authentication. Opted-in ride notifications are sent through Twilio. Each is used only to operate this service.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit this site and how they use it, such as which pages get viewed. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects general usage data; it does not receive your phone number or anything else that identifies you personally within this app.
Visibility within your team
This app has no private accounts or separate permission tiers. Anyone with your team's shared link can see the names and ride details entered for that team, but phone numbers are only visible to people who have signed in with their own phone number. An anonymous visitor with just the link can't see anyone's number. A driver's phone number is then visible to signed-in viewers, since riders need to be able to reach them. A rider's phone number stays private even from signed-in viewers unless the rider chooses to share it when claiming a seat or asking for a ride. Don't share a team's link outside your group.
Changing or removing your information
Since there's no login or account beyond your phone number, contact us below to have your information corrected or removed.
